Plain, Printed, Polo or Oversized? How to Choose the Right T-Shirt Style
By STARFITS · 4 July 2026 · 1 min read
Not sure which style to buy or stock? Each one solves a different problem and appeals to a different shopper. Here's the short version.
Plain T-Shirts
The workhorse. Clean, versatile and always in demand. Perfect for layering, everyday wear, corporate gifting and — if you print — as blanks.
Best for: everyone. Bestselling colours: black, white, navy.
Printed T-Shirts
Personality on a tee. Graphic and typography prints sell on trend and emotion, which means higher margins but shorter shelf life. Buy trends in smaller quantities.
Best for: younger shoppers, streetwear, statement buyers.
Polo T-Shirts
The "smart casual" option. Collared, slightly dressier, and a favourite for corporate uniforms, teams and gifting. Buyers pay more for the finished look.
Best for: office wear, uniforms, older demographics, gifting.
Oversized T-Shirts
The trend that became a staple. Drop-shoulder, boxy fit, heavier fabric. Loved by college students and streetwear fans.
Best for: Gen-Z, streetwear, Instagram-driven sales.
A simple rule: plain tees pay the bills, trend pieces grow the brand. Stock a strong base of plain styles and add trend pieces on top.
What we recommend to start
If you're a reseller building a first order, a good mix is roughly:
- 50% plain (black/white/navy)
- 25% oversized
- 15% printed
- 10% polo
Then reorder based on what actually sells.
Every style we make is premium 200 GSM combed cotton, pre-shrunk, in sizes S–XXL. Browse all styles or see bulk pricing — retail or wholesale, shipped Pan India.
