STARFITS — Wear Your Star

T-Shirt Size Guide for Men & Women in India (Stop the Returns)

By STARFITS · 4 July 2026 · 2 min read

The fastest way to lose money selling t-shirts is bad sizing. Returns cost you shipping both ways, a restocking headache and a bad review. This guide helps you and your customers get the fit right the first time.

How to measure (the reliable way)

Don't guess from height and weight. Measure a t-shirt the customer already loves and match it:

  • Chest: lay the tee flat, measure armpit to armpit, and double it.
  • Length: measure from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.

Match those two numbers and the fit will be right almost every time.

Standard size chart (regular fit, approximate)

  • S — Chest 36–38 in, Length 27 in
  • M — Chest 38–40 in, Length 28 in
  • L — Chest 40–42 in, Length 29 in
  • XL — Chest 42–44 in, Length 30 in
  • XXL — Chest 44–46 in, Length 31 in
These are regular-fit numbers. Oversized styles run 2–4 inches larger in the chest and longer in the body by design — that's the look, not an error.

Men vs Women

Most of our tees are unisex, cut for a relaxed everyday fit. Women who prefer a closer fit should size down one; women who like the oversized look should keep their usual size or size up.

Tips to cut your return rate

  1. Publish the size chart on every listing — in inches, with a "how to measure" line.
  2. Call out the fit — say clearly if a style is regular or oversized.
  3. Confirm pre-shrunk. Ours are, so the size on the label is the size after washing.

Fewer returns, happier customers

Getting sizing right is the cheapest way to protect your margin. All STARFITS tees are pre-shrunk 200 GSM combed cotton in sizes S–XXL. Browse the collection or ask us anything about fit before you order.
